Custom Roman Shades Vintage Reproduction Grain sack feed sack Red stripe on cream, child safe traversing clutch child safe relaxed or flat

These beautiful roman shades are made in a very thick reproduction vintage grainsack / feedsack material. The pictured shades are in a cream with red stripe, but also available is a cream with blue stripe, cream with black stripe and cream with white stripes. They can be done either in the traditional flat/standard Roman shades style as pictured in the first two pictures, or as a relaxed style as pictured in the 4th picture. Depending on the size your shade may not look exactly as pictured as each shade hangs differently depending on the width of the shade. PLEASE NOTE ALL SHADES ARE MADE TO ORDER in the EXACT size of your window. If you do not specify which style you prefer, they will be made in the standard/flat style with regular cotton lining. I do NOT recommend blackout lining with flat/standard shades, as the pinholes create holes of light that come through at each sewn spot with true blackout lining.

You can purchase these shades one at a time based on approximate size then in the note section please put the exact dimensions as well as

1) inside, outside, or door mount
2) if you want regular cotton or blackout lining ( I do NOT recommend blackout lining with flat/standard shades, as the pinholes create holes of light that come through at each sewn spot with true blackout lining),
3) if you prefer a relaxed or standard/flat shade(relaxed is picture 4 and others are flat
4) if you have a preference of a right or left hand loop chain pull. If there is no preference specified the pull will be on the RIGHT and the lining will be a regular cotton UV protected lining.

For an OUTSIDE mount, measure the OUTSIDE of your window, which includes your window sill and any casing. This treatment is meant to be installed just above the window molding. Everything will come fully assembled and ready to be easily installed. The shade is meant to be slightly wider than your window molding, so you may want to add one to two inches the width. For the length, if you want the shade to fully extend when let out and cover the window, then also add a couple of inches to the length since it will hang just above your window. If you plan to leave the shade up, much or all of the time, you may decide not to have the shade be the full length of your window. This is up to you and can be fine and still look nice depending on the length of the window. Generally there will need to be at least 24" or so of length in a shade for it to have a good sway to it, depending on the width.


For an INSIDE mount, it is extremely important to measure very carefully as the mechanism sits tightly inside your window. This should be the outermost part of your inside window. The aluminum head rail (that the shade is attached to) is approximately 1.5" deep and there needs to be enough room on the inside of your window to mount this head rail flat and still allow for the window to open properly. Especially for inside mounting, please measure very precisely, as these are custom made to fit within a 1/2". I will deduct 1/4" to 1/2" off the measurement you give me - so please give me the exact measurement of both the width and the length inside the window casing.

For relaxed shades, it will take a bit to "train" the shade to lie properly each time it is pulled up, so you will need to adjust the folds the first several times you pull it up until the fabric is trained.

** Please note that because of federal child safety regulations, I am no longer offering the standard cord lock system, and all of my shades will be made with the clutch system. In addition to meeting all safety regulations, this system keeps the shade balanced at all times and overall maintains a better quality of shade. It features fully encased cording, and the continuous bead chain loop.

Please also take note of my current turn-around time which is stated in my announcement area of my store front. Once your shades are finished, I ship USPS priority 2-3 day mail. I will contact you with your tracking number when your shades ship. I do not ship shades outside of the US.
